15 - Smiling at the Man in the Moon

That summer was astronomical - literally! In July we had a blue moon . This is what the second full moon in any month is called. Did you know that the length of the month in the 12-month calendar is based on the moon cycle? So generally there is only one full moon a month! Two full moons in one month doesn’t happen often. The month of September in 2015 also sported two cool moon events. On September 13th, in my region, we got a partial solar eclipse . What kind of eclipse is that, you ask?
